There is a major point to all the work we are doing to heal ourselves. This work helps surface old emotions and beliefs for us to recognize and then change when we are healthy enough to do just that. If we dig deep enough, we will get to the layer that we have been hiding from our whole lives.. the layer attached to shame.

Shame comes in many shapes and sizes... it can resemble an elephant in the room; or it can be subtle, barely noticeable. Shame can be attached to a thought, a word or an action from our past that we are trying to forget. And although we are good at hiding shame, shame will not be forsaken. Shame is stored deep in the depths of our bowels waiting for the day we are ready to face these pains.

As we recognize this deeply hidden layer, I have witnessed something quite amazing. As shame surfaces, yeast surfaces with it… something akin to a game of piggyback, and they seem to play well together. As we open the shame doorway, it is only a matter of time that yeast follows its path. As yeast surfaces with shame, we have this insatiable urge to feed it; and while we are feeding it, yeast has the ability to take over the body.

Yeast often reveals itself through physical symptoms including (but not limited to) bladder infections, yeast infections and skin rashes. These are sure signs that the body is out of balance and screaming for attention.

What does all this mean? It means you are ready to heal at this deep level. You are ready to deal with both the shame and yeast attached to it. They are interconnected energies, so we must treat them as such. The most important step to begin healing these energies is to AVOID the foods that feed the yeast! And because cravings are a call to feed the emotions, we will immediately begin to crave these foods. Its a silly game we play with ourself. The better you are at recognizing you are feeding the yeast and then choose to avoid yeasty foods, the faster you move through the shame.

It also becomes essential to increase probiotics and possibly introduce a prebiotic into the regiment. This is where your healing really becomes “all about you” in a very healthy way. Flushing the body with pure spring water is essential, so drink a good 8 cups of pure spring water a day; one cup at a time to help with this flushing process.

Ultimately the point of healing at this level is to change that which I am ashamed of into “I am proud of who I am right now.” How do we do that? By refusing to hide the old energies and owning that which is mine. It is here I can shift myself. This shift in energy helps put the yeast back where it belongs, in the depths of the bowels while at the same time, lighting the way to a new path of self discovery through love and forgiveness.

If it were easy to heal, we would all be healed by now. Yet... it is the most rewarding experience of our lives.. becoming who we truly came to be by letting go of the things we are not.

You can remember what feeds yeast and shame here:

Lorraine and I started working together in January of 2015. During our first session she shared that she was struggling with a severe rash that materialized in June of 2014 after she burned her lips. "I have been itching with this rash for 6 months and have tried many therapies before I contacted you."

When we began working together, Lorraine asked if she could send me a picture so I understood what she was dealing with. It looked painful and Lorraine, as you can see, was not happy. I knew Lorraine had a lot of work to do. Her body was screaming to be loved.
For six months, Lorraine worked diligently to heal her yeast. She was committed to the program. When her body reacted, we worked together to figure out what was causing the reaction. There was no doubt that some of the cosmetics she was using aggravated the situation. Mostly, however, Lorraine was recognizing her emotional states of frustration and anxiety. These two energies caused her to become easily upset over minor issues. This state had become normal to Lorraine and she barely recognized it in herself. Her rash assured her it would not be denied.

As each layer revealed more and more about what Lorraine was in need of healing, I kept reminding her that healing takes time, energy and patience. Lorraine became patient and learned to replace her old energies with new, healthier ones. Eventually she shared more of what she was learning with me, "I'm sure yeast was in my body for a long time. I had sensitivities to certain foods as well as other symptoms for years that I only now recognize as yeast."

Fast forward six months later. The difference is amazing! Her face tells the story.

Although she tried to give me credit for her healing, its simply not true. My job is to teach her how to heal herself. Lorraine did all the work and she did it beautifully. She knows there is more work to do; her body still speaks to her in certain places and at certain times. Lorraine is learning to interpret her body's signals.

Lorraine recently sent me one last quote that she wanted to be included in her article: "It is such a joy working with Linda's support and guidance in discovering how to heal your body naturally. The process takes many twists and turns physically, emotionally and spiritually, but it is so worth doing the work needed."

Today Lorraine is certain she is on the right path to loving herself. Love really does heal all.
A Ten Year Old's Journey to Healing Yeast...

Katie came to see me over a year ago. She was only nine years old at the time. Her mother expressed three issues she felt Katie struggled with: anxiety, skin picking and focussing.

Katie had many fears.. snakes were one and mascots were another. She cringed at the thought of coming face to face with either of them. Her fears kept her from attending football games and circuses as well as playing outdoors.

She also had a habit of picking at her skin until it bled. When I asked her why she did that, she really did not know. I suspected it was itchy.

Her last complaint was her inability to focus at school. Her school work was suffering.

We started her program by dealing with the fears and anxiety, as I felt they were connected to everything else, as everything always is. She tested strong for Mimulus.

Her mother watched as Katie began to shed her fears ever so slowly, one fear at a time (patience is key to healing). Before long, Katie was no longer afraid to express for herself some of the fears she was shifting and those she was still working on. I enjoyed watching her heal.

As she moved through her fears, her body revealed what was hidden underneath. A rash appeared and it WAS itchy! I had no doubt it was a yeast rash, so we began to work with a yeast program. Katie’s mom had a lot to learn about yeast.

What she learned is that the more disciplined she and Katie were at avoiding the yeasty foods, the faster Katie’s skin calmed. When Katie cheated (and Katie wanted to cheat), her skin was quick to respond. We also had her on flowers, detox herbs and candida supplements to help support her healing. All of these efforts were allowing Katie to understand the path to healing herself.

As Katie’s skin showed continued improvement, her mom’s guilt surrounding Katie’s issues took over and she convinced herself that cheating just a little wouldn’t hurt. Northing was further from the truth. Cheating a little hurt a lot!

On one of Katie’s layers, I received an emergency call. “Katie’s skin is breaking out again all over. Its on her stomach, arms and face. It doesn’t look good.”

“Have you introduced a new food that might be feeding the yeast?” Food was always my “go to” place when the skin is screaming.

“Well... I did let her have apples. She is so limited. I feel......”

I stopped Mom in her tracks. “I don’t want to know why you gave her yeasty food, I just want to know what it is. Justifying this won’t help. Dealing with it will.” Katie’s Mom understood.

As I tested the apples, I received a clear negative response. Apples were not good for Katie. Katie’s Mom quickly moved her guilt out of the way and chose to deal with truth. “I promise to eliminate the apples.”

I had a request for Mom. “Before you introduce something new into Katie’s diet, please let me test it first.” It was painful to watch Katie suffer with that nasty rash. And yet, it was the only way her body knew how to get her attention; and it certainly had her full attention. Katie was willing to go back on her strict yeast diet. Itching was not fun. Her mom agreed.

The next time we spoke, Katie’s rash was almost completely cleared. She was tired of salads; not so tired of being itch free. She agreed to continue until her skin assured her she was healed.

I am very proud of Katie. Now, when a client tells me that the candida diet is too limiting and they feel they can’t do it, I share Katie’s story with them and remind them that “if a ten year old can do it, what is your excuse?”

Since healing at these deep layers, Katie is proud to announce that her fear of snakes and mascots has all but disappeared. She is more focussed in school and she is starring in the school play. Life is good.

Healing yeast is not so bad after all.

My clients often express an inability to avoid sugary desserts during the holidays. I remind them that white sugar is toxic to the human body and mind; it feeds yeast conditions. Instead of poisoning one’s body, I suggest they take the time to make their own desserts. It all begins with pure maple syrup and I am happy to share my favorite holiday dessert recipe with you, Maple Pecan Pie.

This recipe originally came from “The Maple Syrup Baking and Dessert Cookbook” by Ken Haedrich. I think Ken’s book is one of the finest maple syrup cookbooks I have come across. If you can get your hands on a copy do so. You will be happy you did!

I have changed Ken’s Maple Pecan Pie recipe a bit to meet my tastes. This is my version of Ken’s original. Its simple, quick and delicious! Its worth your time and effort.

Preheat over to 425.

Beat 3 organic/free range eggs at high speed with electric mixer for two minutes until they are soft and fluffy looking.

Add:

1 cup (minus two tablespoons) pure maple syrup

Beat again for 10 seconds until mixed

Add:

1/4 cup (minus 1 tablespoon) of organic cane juice crystals

1/4 cup (minus 1 tablespoon) of organic brown sugar

1/2 tsp sea salt

Beat again for about 10 seconds until mixed

Add:

1 stick organic melted butter

1 tsp pure organic vanilla extract

1 Tbs organic unbleached white flour

Beat again about 10 seconds or so until mixed

Put aside for a moment.

Next spread:

1-2/3 cup (or so) of organic pecans in your favorite pie shell.
Note: I like to cut my pecan halves into quarters so they are bite sized.

Gently pour the liquid over the pecans. Bake at 425 for 10 minutes. Lower to 375 and bake another 1/2 hour until golden, puffed and not soupy in the middle. (It will be very puffed but will settle down once it cools.)

Now enjoy... Yes, this dessert is rich, however, it is not toxic; and that’s what makes all the difference in how your body and yeast will react to it!!! Of course, its important not to eat the whole pie in one sitting. Enjoy a slice and love that you took care of your needs without having to poison yourself! Your body will love you for it, and love really does heal all.

Could it be that they are all inter-related with one another? That's my thought anyway.

It makes no sense to me that we have body parts for no apparent reason. It is my thought that all of these body parts have very important functions. Let's think about how often people manifest colds and sinus infections. The body can easily heal a cold. It uses the lymphatic system to drain the mucus until the body heals itself. Sinus infections are a little more complicated.

Sinus infections are created through the victim mentality. The victim mentality is when we are feeling unappreciated. We use blame as a means to justify our resentments. It is when we are blaming others for our own unhappiness that we actually create an infection in the mucus membranes. Once infection becomes a reality, the body goes into high gear to protect itself.

It is my thought that the tonsils actually produce our friendly bacteria. And in that moment when the body is trying to drain the infected mucus into the lymphatic system, the tonsils are able to neutralize the infection with friendly bacteria. This acts as a protective mechanism.

So what purpose do the adenoids fill? I believe the adenoids protect the eyes and brain from the infection. It forces the infection down into the throat where the tonsils can do their job . Amazing!

So what's the connection to the appendix? I believe the appendix stores the friendly bacteria produced by the tonsils keeping the bad bacteria in the lower part of the colon where it belongs.

If this information is all correct, then would it make sense that people without tonsils cannot produce friendly bacteria and will be subject to chronic yeast problems?

And someone without adenoids.. are they more apt to create infections that manifest in the eyes as well as becoming more prone to sinus headaches?

Those who have lost their appendix, are they more prone to colon issues and yeast infections?

I'd like someone to prove me wrong...better yet, I'd like to find someone to prove me right.Linda Wojcik, Nutritional Kinesiologist, Spiritual Intuitive, Flower Practitionerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04251077534080796063noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571566241874938748.post-42725030078123279622008-12-07T13:52:00.001-08:002009-01-13T11:19:18.846-08:00Probiotics otherwise known as "Friendly Bacteria"Yeast is caused by an imbalance in our friendly flora or our friendly bacteria. Whether through immune dysfunction or trauma, improper diet or x-rays, It is important to put friendly bacteria back into your system through a high quality probiotic or acidophilus supplement.

Or course it is also important to stop feeding the yeast by avoiding the foods that yeast likes. Once you stop feeding the yeast and reintroduce the friendly bacteria again through the use of Acidophilous, the body will begin to heal itself.

Because digestion is key to healing yeast, a digestive cleanser is also essential.

Another very important supplement to include in your daily regiment would be a top quality yeast-free B-Complex or Multi vitamin. The majority of yeast people seem to be B-complex deficient which is one of the reasons for the feeling of great tiredness and inability to handle stress. B-complex is also essential in helping us to get a good night's sleep. So make sure to include this important supplement in your morning routine.

In my experience with my clients, most yeast can be cleared up within a 4-6 week period. Emotions play a role and so it is important to take an honest look at who you have become. Once you begin to recognize that unrecognizable person, make a commitment to change you back to the you that makes you happy. He or she is in there somewhere. Most likely you've been hiding you for a long time. Maybe its time to find you again!Linda Wojcik, Nutritional Kinesiologist, Spiritual Intuitive, Flower Practitionerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04251077534080796063noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571566241874938748.post-89485573751479940492008-12-04T14:58:00.000-08:002008-12-19T19:06:43.322-08:00Now That You're Candida Free! It's been at least four weeks, you've been following the yeast-free diet and are feeling much better. You have worked on your improving your digestion. Your energy level has improved, your sleeping better, and your digestion feels great! You feel truly healthy again, and now it's time to think about the possibility of being candida free. The only way to know is to try.. slowly!

But how do you begin? By reintroducing foods - one at a time - back into your diet. Remember, however, that you have learned to do without all the bad foods and done quite well without them. Don't go back to bad habits. When we say reintroduce foods, we are talking about all the good food you had to eliminate during your candida diet days, such as apples, pears, walnuts, hummus, and a really nice yeasted whole grain bread. A good bread will have simple ingredients, such as whole grains, water, salt & yeast with a possible nut or seed added for fun! We find that the whole grain sourdough breads as well as the whole grain sprouted breads are the easiest to digest. So after introducing regular wheat bread, if you find yourself very tired after meals, or you begin to produce excessive mucous, we would recommend changing your bread choices back to either sourdough or sprouted grain.

To remain healthy, continue to stay away from the bad foods, such as caffeine, artificial flavors, refined white flours and white sugars, colors & preservatives. The body has no use for such foods and will only get you back into trouble.

Cow cheese is a huge allergen and most people do much better eliminating or keeping cow products to a minimum in their diet. You will know once you try it.What I have learned is now that you are "clean" and your body is functioning very well, it will also speak to you very clearly. By this we mean that when you put something into your body that it does not like, it will let you know. Some of the symptoms of allergies people have experienced may include stomach ache, headache, rash, sinus problems, etc. If you react now, you are probably allergic to the food, or maybe the food was full of a chemical or preservative. Your body may not stand for it any more.

Some clients told me they think they have gotten more sensitive since completing a candida program. I believe you are not more sensitive. You probably always were, but there was so much wrong with your whole system, you didn't even notice it. Now you will notice, and this is just where you want to be. The body has the ability to communicate. Our job is to learn this language so we can understand ourselves.

If you go back to your old ways of bad oils or fatty foods, you may one day realize that your digestion is blown out again. You will find that after eating, your foods are once again getting "stuck". This is your body language telling you the body is not happy again! But don't fret... you now realize you have the power to fix it! That's the beauty of this type of healing.. you do have the knowledge.. you just have to remember it!The feeling you are experiencing may be an unhappy digestive system. Get back on your dandelion, burdock or yellow dock (whichever one you used originally) for a week or so and stop eating the foods creating the problem. And don't do denial about it! Be honest with yourself. By being honest you are back in control and responsible for your own healing. Isn't that what this is about? Self responsibility?

Remember, only you can heal you. And with self responsibility comes truth. Pay attention to how you do things. And when you find you are doing things that don't make you happy, change them!Emotions play a huge role in our ability to maintain a healthy attitude (see our blog on "healing emotions"). Don't forget to introduce flower essences at some point to heal your negative emotional states. This will create a healthy emotional atmosphere that will allow you to truly "see" how you do your stuff!Pay attention when your body speaks and you will remain in the healthy shape you have worked so hard to achieve.

Choose your food wisely - it's what will keep you healthy. We will continue to be here for any questions or concerns you may have,Feel free to count on us! Enjoy your new, healthy way of life and good luck in the real world!

Linda Wojcik, Nutritional Kinesiologist, Spiritual Intuitive, Flower Practitionerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04251077534080796063noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571566241874938748.post-33511647576416724542008-12-04T14:44:00.000-08:002008-12-07T15:08:42.412-08:00A Sample Candida DietChanging a diet is not hard, it is simply a commitment. The commitment comes in finding the stores that meet your new life style and the little shops or restaurants that offer high quality foods that can meet your needs. You simply have to think before you eat; and as this becomes a way of life, it will become second nature to just expect top quality food to nourish you physically, emotionally and spiritually. So search out the health food stores and the gourmet markets. Look for little restaurants and cafes that bake their own breads or are known for their quality of food. The search is almost as exciting as the rewards.

Listed below are some our favorite foods to begin a candida diet with, but that is not to say this list is complete by any means. There are many choices out there and depending upon where you live and as your taste buds become more enhanced, we hope you share some of your favorites with us in the future.

Our favorite yeast-free sourdough and sprouted grain breads:

Baldwin Hill Bakery - a wonderful assortment

French Meadow Bakery

Alvarado sprouted grain breads

Food for Life sprouted grain breads

You can also find sprouted grain burger buns for use with sandwiches and organic burgers.
There are a number of tortillas that we use that are yeast free. They are great for sandwiches, burittos and quesadillas. Some of our favorites include:

Rustics Spelt Tortilla

Cedarlane Whole Wheat Tortillas

Alvarado Sprouted Wheat Tortillas

Maria And RicardoTortilla Factory makes an assortment.. two of our favorite in this line are the Spinach Tortilla and the Tomato Tortilla.

French Meadow also makes yeast free sprouted grain bagels. Enjoy!

Breakfast:

This is the time to take your supplements with a cup of pure spring water. I don't believe we should take supplements with juices as it could interfere with proper digestion. (Personally, I don't think juice is a necessity although America might disagree with me). If you choose to do juices at breakfast, I would prefer organic and no more than 4 ounces per day. For yeast, organic grapefruit juice would be my first preference or some spring water with fresh organic lemon in it. Both are body cleansers.

Suggestion #1:(Organic) Oatmeal or Oat Bran topped with a few sesame seeds, currants and some pure maple syrup. A piece of sourdough toast with real butter (yes you can have butter - just don't abuse it). A cup of Kafree Roma or other coffee alternative or a cup of herbal tea.

Suggestion #2:Two poached or hard boiled eggs (my preferences) served on top of two pieces of sourdough toast or sourdough bagels with home fries if you like.

Suggestion #3:Fresh organic vegetable juice.. whatever is your liking.. just make sure it is organic...I believe this is important for juicing. Combine any of the following in the amounts that make your taste buds happy.. Carrots, celery, parsley, broccoli... Of course there are a number of other vegetables, but these are my favorites.

Suggestion #4:A piece of sourdough toast topped with organic almond butter, organic strawberry jam and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. What's better than this?

Lunch:

I don't believe that it is in our digestion's best interest to combine meat proteins with carbohydrates when you are trying to heal yeast and digestion (breads, pastas, rice, etc..). So if you want to eat meat, chicken, turkey or fish, try not to put it on a sandwich.. serving it with a salad or roasted organic vegetables would be a much better choice.

Our favorite mayonnaise:

Hain Safaflower Mayonnaise

Spectrum Canola Mayonnaise

Follow Your Heart Veganaise Grapeseed Oil Mayonnaise (in the refrigerated section) Nasoya

Tofu Mayonnaise

Our favorite oils:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Expeller Pressed Safflower Oil

Expeller Pressed Sunflower Oil

Expeller Pressed Sesame Oil

Organic Grapeseed Oil

Make sure your salad dressings and marinades contain the good oils and vinegars such as balsamic. You can make your own salad dressings using pure olive oil and balsamic vinaigrettes or fresh lemon juice.

Our favorite Pasta Sauces:

Organic Muir Glen

Organic Seeds of Change

Annie's Organic Pasta Sauces

Look for the ones that are organic and seasoned to your liking. (Josh's tip.. the better quality sauces will use olive oil instead of canola oil for their preferences. You should too!)

If you are not adverse to eating meat, consider chicken, turkey, and fish as well as venison, lamb and bison for protein meat choices. Avoid meats with hormones and antiobiotics. Whether you choose to eat meat or not, remember that beans daily are essential to every diet as well as a little nut and seed.

Avoid foods made from hydrogenated oils and/or cottonseed oils. These will play havoc with your digestive system. Good oils are essential to keep a gall bladder healthy, so your choice of mayonnaise will affect your digestion and healing process as well. So choose one of the best… youare worth it!

Suggestion #1:A bean and/or brown rice burrito (served on one of the tortillas mentioned above) topped with fresh chopped veggies (shredded carrots, chopped red onions, chopped tomatoes and cucumbers, with some salsa and guacamole. (This is one of our family's favorites for lunch or dinner. Everything you need to nourish yourself and perfect digestive capabilities as well. You can make a quick burrito using canned Little Bear organic refried beans combined with Amie's Mild Chili. This is easy and you can add flavors as you see fit.

Suggestion #2:White Wave Marinated Tofu (pick the flavor you like) sliced with fresh organic veggie and good mayonnaise served on whole grain sourdough bread with chips on the side (make sure your chips are made from the good oils).

Suggestion #3:Deep Sea Tongul Tuna fish salad made from the good mayonnaise and spices served over a bed of fresh organic greens and chopped veggies with high quality salad dressings.

Suggestion #4:Steamed organic veggies seasoned with a marinade or tamari with herbs & spices served with a baked or roasted potato. You could add a slice of sourdough bread to this meal as it is meat-free.

Dinner:

Good quality restaurants are always in order when you are trying to change your dietary habits. The majority of the fast food chains may have to go.. but there is so much more out there in the real world when you take the time to look. The smaller cafes and specialty shops along with gourmet markets and health food stores can supply a wonderful meal and ready-made food for you to bring home and just enjoy. So go explore and experiment. You'll be glad you did!

Suggestion #1:Omega Deep Sea Salmon Burger served over organic roasted veggies that have been lightly seasoned with a side salad and high quality dressing.

Suggestion #2:Organic Brown Rice with steamed or roasted organic veggies (as many and as diverse as you like - just avoid mushrooms & sweet potatoes).

Suggestion #3:Organic semolina or organic whole grain pasta (the whole grain can be a little gritty)..topped with your favorite organic pasta sauce. Yves makes "Just Like Ground" (which is a meat substitute made from soy). Sautee in olive oil with a your favorite vegetables (garlic, onions, peppers, etc..) Add to sauce and serve over pasta. An organic salad can also be added to this dish if you like.

Suggestion #4:One of our favorite meals is to combine all the organic veggies we have available and roasts them in the oven in a little olive oil, tamari and herbs. A piece of sourdough toast added to this meal makes it complete, nourishing and filling.

If you choose to eat lunch meats, use top quality meats and make sure they are sliced fresh.

Snacks of chips are acceptable as long as they contain the good oils (see above). Cookies can be a treat (not the whole bag), but make sure they contain good oils and the sweeteners that are allowed. My favorite cookie line is Pamela's which you can usually find at a health food store. You may not have all the choices of those who eat anything and everything, but what you do eat will now nourish your body, your mind and your soul.

The sweeteners that you can have to replace white refined sugars are:

Pure Maple Syrup (we like organic grade B)

Molasses

Barley or Rice Malt Syrups

Stevia

Agave Nectar

Organic cane juice crystals and sucanat are also acceptable, but are not my first choice.

Fresh herbs on your food helps fill the void of mineral deficiencies. Sea salt should be added to food while cooking and avoided while eating especially if you are prone to water imbalances.

Pure water is essential to any dietary change. The average person need 4 to 5 cups of pure water daily, unless you work in hot conditions or on days you may be exercising. Otherwise, water should be consumed by the cup, not sipped. So drink a cup of pure water upon awakening to re--hydrate your system and a cup of water before each meal to flush the system and awaken your digestive juices. Of course, when you get thirsty, listen to your body and re-hydrate!

After a while, eating the good foods will become second nature and you'll demand nothing less of yourself. You have to remember that eliminating yeast comes from a digestive system that is working to its highest potential.

Eliminating worry and stress is also helpful, so when you are somewhere that is not conducive to a yeast diet, do the best you can and enjoy the moment. It's really all we are here to do anyway - to learn what makes us happy! And you will learn that as you nourish yourself, you make yourself very happy! Enjoy it, your spirit will love you for introducing all these new experiences and tastes into your life.
Linda Wojcik, Nutritional Kinesiologist, Spiritual Intuitive, Flower Practitionerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04251077534080796063noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571566241874938748.post-47197351123392813942008-12-04T10:28:00.000-08:002009-03-04T12:21:13.284-08:00Food that Feeds Yeast and Food that Won't!This is a candida diet even you can live with!

With over 25 years' experience with candida clients and nutritional kinesiology, I believe that there are only certain foods that feed yeast. They are very specific and I have listed them below. That is not to say that some people cannot be allergic to other foods; you might be one of those people. But as you eliminate the yeast foods and pay attention to your body, any allergies to other foods will be revealed to you over time. Pay attention to your body language; it is your greatest ally when it comes to healing you.

To begin healing yeast:

AVOID all fruits (fresh, frozen or dried), EXCEPT you can eat grapefruit, lemon, lime, tangerines, strawberries, cranberries, kiwi, currants, mangoes, bananas & fresh pineapple.

Do not eat walnuts or chickpeas. Any other nut, bean or seed is okay to eat.

The only vegetables to stay clear of are mushrooms and sweet potatoes, so eat lots of fresh veggies (remember, organic is always better for the body). Try to keep fresh and steamed vegetables separate from one another. If digestion is compromised, they may cause digestive problems if consumed at the same time.

No chocolate or caffeine. This includes coffee, caffeinated tea (black tea, green tea, chai tea - unless it stated "decaf" on the label) Carob is acceptable as a chocolate substitute. Water processed decaffeinated coffee is okay, but limit to one cup per day. Even better would be a coffee substitute that can be found at the health food store, such as Kaffree Roma or other natural coffee substitutes. Teeccino helps kick the coffee habit. It is brewed like coffee and gives us that same ritual feeling.

Stay clear of sodas & city water.

Avoid artificial flavors, sweeteners, and preservatives. Yeast loves anything that compromises the immune system.

Avoid all white sugars and processed flours. They serve no purpose.

Avoid any product made from yeast including breads and crackers.

Avoid all cow cheese.

Now that you know what you cannot eat, the question becomes, "Then what can I eat?" Lots! Let's start with the essential... water!
Water is essential; drink only pure water. Avoid all city water. Make sure your water is from spring water that is pure. How we drink it is also important. Sipping water does not flush the system. A cup of water upon awakening re-hydrates the system; a cup before each meal flushes the system and gets our digestion ready for the next meal.

Grapefruit juice or a natural lemonade is acceptable on occasion. Herbal teas are good as long as they don't contain the fruits that are not allowed on the diet. Echinacea tea and Pau D'Arco tea are good for the immune system. For a treat, a natural soda such as one from the health food store is allowed, but again, don't be abusive and watch the fruits! Mineral waters are fine, but again watch the fruits! One of my favorite morning ritual drinks is a decaf chai tea (Roobos) with a little pure maple syrup, topped with Silk soy creamer. It doesn't get better than that!

Your sugars of choice are pure maple syrup, molasses, barley malt, rice malt, molasses, agave, & stevia. For those who do not have a history of sugar abuse, organic cane juice crystals and sucanat are also allowed. Very small amounts of honey are allowed - make sure they are last in the ingredient listings.

Meats, poultry and fish are allowed, except for pork which aggravates digestion. Keep your meats to small portions, no more than 4 or 5 oz. per meal and no more than once per day.

Your bread of choice will be whole grain sourdough bread such as Baldwin Hill or French Meadow - up to 2 slices per day. Whole grain sprouted breads, such as Alvarado and Ezekial are also permitted - 1 slice per day. Look for crackers that are whole grain and yeast free. Stick to whole grain or semolina pastas.

Avoid cow cheese. Substitute with soy, rice, goat or sheep cheese. Soy & rice cheese now come in a variety of flavors, including mozzarella, Swiss, American, Parmesan, sour cream & cream cheese. And more and more markets are offering a variety of goat and sheep cheese. Experiment and find the ones that suit your taste buds!

Many people have dairy allergies, so be conscious of this if you use cow milk. Allergies to cow milk may include bloating, colon issues, sinus problems, bronchial problems, and ear infections. Real butter is usually acceptable unless you are dealing with severe dairy allergies.

Eating a goat yogurt daily is often helpful but do not combine it with fruits. Instead use plain, maple or vanilla flavors. Adding pure maple syrup to plain goat yogurt turns it into a wonderful treat!Linda Wojcik, Nutritional Kinesiologist, Spiritual Intuitive, Flower Practitionerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04251077534080796063noreply@blogger.com23tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571566241874938748.post-8220384786391559192008-12-04T10:21:00.000-08:002008-12-04T10:26:07.272-08:00How To Begin Healing YeastYou've decided you may be a candidate for yeast. You have enough of the symptoms to stop denying yourself. What next? Step two is to make a commitment to yourself to begin dealing with your yeast problems. Learn what feeds yeast and become conscious of your own cravings. Soon you'll find that the foods you crave are the same foods that feed yeast!

Frustration or resentment may begin to rear its head. Its okay. Give it a moment and then turn that energy into commitment to stop abusing yourself by not feeding your yeast. Take a moment to realize that there are many healthy non-yeast foods that you could be choosing instead. Healing is all about choices. Do you choose to feed your yeast or nurture yourself?

When you begin your yeast diet, there are two ways it can affect you.. you may begin to feel better right away.. or if you are full of toxins, you may feel worse for a few days before you notice improvement. Either way is the right way for you.

As you begin to feel better, you may decide that it won't hurt to cheat a little here and there. And it may not. But it may. This is where you come in because only you know how you truly feel. And after you cheat, if you find that you feel awful, you will at least know what it is that made you this way. And then you can consciously make a decision if it was worth it or not. And you may decide that cheating once in awhile is not so bad. That's okay too. But you may decide that you like feeling good and that's even better! In any case, your healing will rest on your shoulders, and that is exactly where it needs to be.

Within no time at all, you'll find that this diet is one that is easy to follow. For everything you cannot have there is a list of food you can! Eventually, you will learn that you are in charge of how you feel by what you eat. And that's the beauty of this type of healing. It all comes back to being responsible for yourself.

So as you partake this new journey, let yourself know that it is a new adventure.. one that can be a truly enjoyable one. Because the better you feel, the more you'll do and the more you do, the more you'll experience life. And isn't that what we are here to do? Experience life so we can learn more about ourselves. What we like; what we don't like.. one experience after another. At times, it may be the "not so good ones" that are our greatest teachers. The best advice I can give you is sit back and enjoy the journey..Linda Wojcik, Nutritional Kinesiologist, Spiritual Intuitive, Flower Practitionerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04251077534080796063noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8571566241874938748.post-80407738935513016112008-12-04T06:57:00.000-08:002009-03-04T12:22:39.440-08:00Is Candida Your Problem?Eighty percent of Americans, at some point in their lives, create a condition know as Candida. Candida is an overgrowth of bad bacteria in the body. We are supposed to have what is called "friendly bacteria" in our colon. It is part of our immune system. It's main function is to keep bad bacteria from entering the body. It is one of our protective shields to keep us healthy. The problem is that most Americans have killed off their friendly bacteria without being aware of it. It's one of the best kept secrets in America... one that manages to keep most Americans very ill.

Depending upon how long you have had yeast, symptoms may include but are not limited to:
- bloating
- tiredness
- depression
- anxiety
- headaches
- allergies
- muscle aches
- inability to concentrate
- digestive problems
- skin rashes
- kidney/bladder infections
- yeast infections
- blurred vision

Does this sound like you? If so, deal with your yeast.

What causes yeast to manifest in the body?

Poor digestion feeds yeast. When our digestion is not working properly, food will sit too long in the system and yeast now has time to attack! However, the good news is that yeast cannot live in a body that digests properly. So if you think yeast is your problem, fix your digestion! I cannot stress that enough. For more information on healing digestion link to: http://healingyou101-physical.blogspot.com/2008/12/digestive-disorders.html

Over-use of drugs and/or antibiotics aggravate yeast. This can also include over the counter medications.

X-Rays can stimulate a yeast condition. Although this statement may be denied by many health professionals, my personal experiences have taught me that x-rays can imbalance the friend flora. Within two days following teeth x-rays, my body was in yeast overload, and I am not a person that usually has a problem with yeast. So pay attention to your body's language following any x-ray.

Working around fumes and/or poisons

Trauma and long-term stress

A diet that is full of refined foods and chemicals

A baby can be born with a yeast condition if the mother had a yeast problem when carrying the baby. Remember, the baby gets its nourishment from the mother.. as well as its yeast! Babies with yeast usually manifest symptoms early on in life, including thrush or chronic diaper rash.

There are only a handful of foods that feed yeast. When I first began working with clients with chronic yeast, I learned specifically what yeast likes to feed on. Some sites will tell you that yeast lives on any food that turns to sugar in the body. That has not been my experience with my clients. Yeast likes the simple sugars. Why? Because if our digestion is working properly, the complex sugars will break down in the body before yeast has a chance to attach to it.

If you stop eating the foods that feed yeast, your body can begin to heal. So its important to learn what feeds yeast. For a complete listing of foods that feed yeast, link to: http://healingyou101-candida.blogspot.com/2008/12/candida-diet-you-can-live-with.html

Once you are conscious of the yeast foods, you can stop eating them and yeast will have no power over you.

The funny thing is that those with chronic yeast crave the foods that feed their condition. Cravings signify an imbalance. So if you really want to heal, eliminate your cravings and focus on the foods that nourish your body and your soul.

The majority of my clients can bring their body back into balance in four short weeks. This happens because healing takes place on all levels. First its important to heal the physical body through proper digestion and nourishing foods. Next, the emotional level must be balanced. We do this with the help of flower essences and homeopathic remedies. And finally, we work the mental body by learning to make the choices that make us happy.

Get ready..you're about to partake on a journey that can bring you back to health!Linda Wojcik, Nutritional Kinesiologist, Spiritual Intuitive, Flower Practitionerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04251077534080796063noreply@blogger.com0
